The book by Marcus du Sautoy -Thinking better, the Art of the Shortcut, should be available to purchase, this evening at the lecture (if they arrive in time; otherwise we will be taking orders!). We have managed to negotiate a very generous publishers’ discount of 50%. The cost therefore will be £10 each. (Amazon price £18.83). The book is eminently readable and fascinating; it would make a great stocking filler for Christmas!
In view of the generous discount and the kindness of the speaker coming to talk without charge, the committee think it very appropriate for us to make voluntary contributions to his charity, educating children in Guatemala (see below) and presenting him with the proceeds at the end of the evening. A collection box will be located in the foyer of the hall.
See you this evening in the Boutflour Hall.
Thank you,
Malcolm
