Rolls Royce Aero
Description
jointly with CAHS
My talk will trace the development of the Rolls Royce aero engine from the Hawk piston engine to the Trent jet. The piston engines were named after birds of prey and the jets were named after rivers.
The Bristol connection will be explored from the manufactureof RR engines in WW1 to the RR take-over of Bristol Siddeley in the 60's'.
