The Cirencester Science and Technology Society is delighted to welcome John Cowen M.A. (Oxon) C.Eng. MICE, FRGS, who will present an fascinating insight into one of the world's most ambitious engineering projects.
John Cowen will take us through the extraordinary technical and logistical challenges of this massive 22-mile long construction project, including:
• The scale and scope of the project
• Key design issues and technical difficulties, including the Russian military's requirement for stainless steel construction throughout this enormous structure
• The unique constraints and peculiarities of working within the Russian system
