The Defence Academy and Swindon Branch

Over the past 2½ years the former RAF base at Lyneham has been transformed into a new training facility for the Army’s Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME). This involved merging the former training facilities at Arborfield and Bordon in early 2016.
Itinerary:
10:00 – Arrive at Main Gate and book in – own transport (car sharing if possible).
10:20 – Welcome to Lyneham.
10:30 – Tour of Army Air Corps Engineering training facilities (officers and soldiers)
12:30 – Lunch in Officers’ Mess
13:30 – Visit the New REME Museum
16:00 – Depart
The cost of this visit, which includes lunch and the entrance fee to the museum, will be £15 per person.
